How to Treat Premature Infants with Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Looking at our baby with respiratory distress syndrome will make us feel empathy, even we, as parent, sometime think that if it can be replaced, we will sincerely replace our baby. but it is absolutely just our imagination. however if we have a premature baby with respiratory distress syndrome we should not be panic because it can be treated as well as possible. what is the best treatment for newborn whose respiratory disorder. here are some the ways which usually doctor or nurse do.
The treatment for newborn baby  with respiratory disturbance is usually treated with move him or her as soon as possible after the infants born into the delivery room which is called neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).  in NICU room the baby will be treated by professional assistant or nurse who has been specialized to care the premature baby.

The following is another way to treat the premature baby with Respiratory Distress Syndrome

The most important thing in treating the newborn baby is replacing the surfactant liquid that helps his airways in the lungs open widely then baby could breath much better. it is usually provided through breathing tubes. after being given surfactant liquid, the breathing tubes is then connected to the ventilator, a machine that supports breathing, so that the infant will be able to breath better. besides ventilator, the newborn baby can also be treated by giving extra oxygen therapy.

Giving surfactant liquid is usually given as soon as possible in the the maternity room to avoid the risk of  Respiratory Distress Syndrome. in order to prevent bear premature baby, the pregnant women are usually given  the medicines called corticosteroids during pregnancy to make the development of surfactant lung.
Well, over all, those treatments above is believed as the best way in recent decade to treat and prevent respiratory distress syndrome for newborn baby.

How to Know and Identify Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) is the disturbance of breathing that usually happen to the infants who have been just born. however RDS seldom happens to the baby but it usually occurs to the premature infant who are usually born in 6 weeks earlier.

Respiratory Distress Syndrome usually happens to the premature infants because their lungs could not make enough surfactant. surfactant itself is liquid that  covers part of inside their lungs. that surfactant liquid is used as the way in order the lungs can function breath normally by inhaling enough air since they are born.

Without any enough surfactant liquid, infants will force their lungs work hard to inhale the air. How about using extra oxygen  that we can find in many stores.? well, using extra oxygen from the store, it will not be useful because it will not enough help and support their organs well. where as we have known that lack of oxygen will destroy infants brain and other organ of their body if they are not special treated well.

How to Identify the Infants whose  Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Most of premature infants undergo this respiratory distress syndrome. to identify whether the infants have syndrome of respiratory distress or not, it can be see 24 hours after being born. if the infants still have respiratory disorder, they can be diagnosed with Displasia Bronchopulmonary or it is well-known with  BPD that usually used to diagnose a serious lung condition by giving oxygen through nasal prongs, a mask, or a breathing tube. However when the premature infants given oxygen through nasal prongs will have more risk in lungs destruction than normal baby, it is caused by the limitation of  the blood vessels in the lungs so that  the airbags and blood vessels will be less or smaller than normally baby's airbags and blood vessels.
